This page explains how transaction fees are calculated on Payluk for personal, business, and merchant accounts. Payluk’s fee model is designed to be transparent, flexible, and fair across different account types.
Standard Transaction Fees
Payluk applies a percentage-based fee on every completed escrow transaction, depending on the account type.
| Account Type | Payluk Fee |
|---|---|
| Personal Account | 2.5% |
| Business Account | 2.5% |
| Merchant Account | 2% |
These fees are deducted automatically when a transaction is completed.
Merchant Escrow Fee Configuration
Merchant accounts have the ability to configure an additional escrow fee that is charged to their customers.
Merchants can set this fee by navigating to:
Dashboard → Configuration
The configured fee represents the merchant’s commission on each escrow transaction initiated by their customers.
How Merchant Fees Are Calculated
When a merchant sets a custom escrow fee, the total transaction fee charged to the customer is calculated as:
Example
- Payluk merchant fee: 2%
- Merchant-configured escrow fee: 1.5%
Total fee charged to the customer: 2% + 1.5% = 3.5%
Merchant Commission Payout
After the escrow transaction is successfully completed:
- The Payluk fee (2%) is retained by Payluk
- The merchant fee (1.5%) is credited to the merchant’s main wallet
- The merchant fee serves as commission earned from the merchant customer
This ensures merchants are rewarded for facilitating escrow transactions on their platform.
Important Notes
- Fees are only applied to completed escrow transactions
- Refunded transactions also generate merchant commissions
- Merchant fees are configurable and can be updated at any time
- Fee changes apply only to newly created escrow transactions
Best Practices
- Clearly communicate escrow fees to your customers
- Review fee configuration regularly
- Factor transaction fees into your pricing model
- Monitor merchant commission payouts for reconciliation
Payluk’s flexible fee structure empowers merchants to earn commissions while ensuring transparent and secure escrow transactions for all parties.
